World Horti Center is the worldwide knowledge & innovation centre in the heart of horticulture. The building was officially opened on Wednesday morning, 7 March by Her Majesty Queen Máxima. The wordwide knowledge and innovation centre in the heart of Dutch greenhouse horticulture is the first of its kind in the world as a result of cooperation between education, research, government and the business community.
Minister of Agriculture, Nature & Food Quality, Carola Schouten, was also present at the official opening and spoke about how this underlines the leading international position of the horticulture sector.
In the afternoon the WHC was opened for people from the sector, students and other interested parties. Guided tours were given, workshops on innovation and sustainability could be attended and visitors could visit the many participants at the stands.
