A sustainable choice
Growing plants with love for the Earth is one of our priorities. This makes our plants a sustainable choice for customers. Every year we take steps to grow our plants by cleaner, more sustainable and fairer methods because we want to provide our customers with beautiful houseplants for many more years to come. Hierdoor zijn onze planten een duurzame keuze voor klanten. Elk jaar zetten wij stappen om onze planten schoner, duurzamer en eerlijker te telen. Want wij willen onze klanten nog jarenlang voorzien van prachtige kamerplanten.
For this reason, we have not used any substances classified as Neonicotinoids for years now because the use of these substances can be a cause of bee mortality in the Netherlands.
Biological crop protection
We put maximum effort into using biological crop protection such as predatory mites and parasitic wasps. As a result, the use of chemical pesticides is kept to a minimum. This biological crop protection is distributed evenly and efficiently in greenhouses by using the Airobug.
We also make plants more resilient and healthier by using products from the NatuGrow system which stands for Natural Growing. This growing method creates plants that are less susceptible to diseases such as Pythium, Fusarium, Mildew and Botrytis.
Certificates
High quality of our houseplants is our priority. This is why we are affiliated with various quality organisations and we have acquired several certificates. Before a certificate is awarded, a company has to go undergo a strict selection process, which makes it difficult to obtain a certificate. With these certificates you can rest assured that the plants you are buying meet high standards, for example in terms of sustainability.
MPS-A
Onze bedrijfsvoering is heel duurzaam, wat is beloond het de certificering MPS-A (van MPS ABC). Een hoge score waarmee we tot de top behoren op dit gebied.
MPS-GAP
Wij voldoen aan de strenge eisen op het gebeid van traceerbaarheid, milieu, gewasbescherming en recall procedures. Daarom kunnen we met dit certificaat ook leveren aan internationale retailers.
MPS-Productproof
Naast onze bedrijfsvoering, zijn onze producten ook zo milieuvriendelijk geteeld. Met het MPS-ProductProof certificaat kunnen wij aantonen dat bepaalde werkzame stoffen niet zijn gebruikt. Kijk voor meer informatie op www.volgjebloemofplant.nl.
MPS-SQ
Het MPS-SQ certificaat toont u aan dat wij voldoen aan (inter)nationale eisen op het gebied van veiligheid en gezondheid op de werkvloer.
GRASP
Sociale aspecten op bedrijfsniveau zijn voor ons net zo belangrijk als het milieuvriendelijk kweken. Het certificaat GRASP laat zien dat wij hier veel mee bezig zijn.
PlanetProof
On the way to PlanetProof is een keurmerk wat in veel sectoren voorkomt, ook in de sierteelt. Dit keurmerk laat zien dat producten duurzamer zijn geproduceerd. Onze planten zijn een betere keuze voor natuur, klimaat en dier!
Footprint
What is our actual impact on the Earth? To find out, Greenhouse Marketeers has calculated our ecological footprint. This allows us to be aware of the impact of our cultivation process (from A to Z) on the environment. This forms our basis for continuous improvements in terms of sustainability.
Sustainable collaboration
Sustainability is something we work on together with our customers and partners, so that together, we can strive for a better world. For example, we are working together with ‘Aardse Orchideeën’ on a project to purify drainage water in a biological way. Since January 1st 2018, the floriculture sector has been obliged to clear 95% of crop protection products from its waste water. This regulation anticipates a target of recirculation of all water within greenhouse horticulture by 2027. Both we and Aardse Orchideeën believe in a biological solution. During the project, this solution will be investigated and validated. This project is subsidised by the Northern Netherlands Collaborative (Samenwerkingsverband Noord-Nederland (SNN) as part of the European Funding for Regional Development (EFRO).
